Crazy Love
Our Wednesday night Fellowship group of Believing "foreigners" in our town is currently reading the book Crazy Love by Frances Chan. I really liked and was convicted by our most recent chapter. It was all about faith, trust, and sacrificial, radicial love and giving. He talked some about Hebrews 11 and then had some really great quotes and points to make. So I just wanted to jot down some of the ideas from the book that got me excited...Having faith often means doing what others see as crazy...Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers (and I would add even to some believers)...If I too live recklessly (like Heb. 11 people), I will see Him do the impossible...We put ourselves in situations where we're safe even if there is no God...True love requires sacrifice, giving...Pride tells you you've sacrificed more than others; fear tells you it's time to worry about the future...What are you doing right now that requires faith?...He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through. At the end of the chapter he quoted Is. 58 which I love, and it's the scripture that my home Fellowship back in Wenatchee, WA draws it's vision from. You should check it out in your Good Book!

I just read Is 58. So now I'm meditating and reflecting. Thanks for sharing, Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good question...what are you doing right now that requires faith? Paul was talking about something similar to that this morning at fellowship:) I am going to have to think about it some more. Good to hear from you guys. Love you lots!
