Flop, Flop

Yesterday Elise and I ventured to Wal-mart while Sophia was at preschool.  It's a nice store, but it's definitely a far cry from the Wal-marts back in the states.  However, they do have some good things like peanut butter and I even found a Chinese brand of root beer!  I was thrilled to pieces!!!  After shopping, Elise and I were in the checkout lane.  There was one man in front of us, and his items were on the counter.  All of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I see something jumping around and I hear a rustling sound.  My first thought was, "Rat!" I shrieked and jumped away from the counter.  Elise was sitting in the cart and I think I scared her because then she started to cry.  Finally, I looked back to see that it was a large, live fish flopping around in a plastic bag on the checkout counter.  You see, they have these huge aquariums and you can grab a fishing net and dip in and pick out your own fish and take it home alive.  The fish was flopping around so much that it had even managed to wiggle itself out of the plastic bag, which was all bloody by now, and it was shedding it's scales all over the counter.  It took the man several grabs to finally get the fish into a new bag and tie it up again.  I smiled and laughed.  This is one reason why I love living in China...because you never know what crazy thing you might encounter each day.  So, what happened on your last trip to Wal-mart?
