My 31st birthday was on February 28. This year it was a Tuesday, so two days before on Sunday our family went to Foreign Fellowship as usual. Afterward we went to the Aloha Diner, this amazing restaurant that serves delicious American food. It's just 3 bus stops away from where our Fellowship meets. The Diner has what they call a "party room." Often our group will sit there to eat lunch together after Fellowship, but this time when I walked into the "party room" there really was a party - and it was for me! Surprise!!! Immediately I was donned with some kind of special "birthday hat", but I wasn't allowed to look at it until the party was over. So here I am in my special hat, and I had no idea what it looked like. Wow, that's one big bow! That's Mel in the background. She's my amazing and sweet friend who arranged the whole surprise party. On the right is my awesome friend Jay.

Funny thing is, she had no idea that my number one love language is Words! It was SO encouraging to hear what everyone had to say. Basically I'm an awesome person. Haha!!! I'm just kidding. But truly, it really made me feel like a valuable member of the team to know how much my teammates love me. ( :

Last they brought out TWO cakes! So delcious! On the left is a strawberry cake decorated with a palm tree because I had just been in Florida! On the right is a cowboy boot because I'm a wanna be cowgirl ;)
